Who is responsible?
OnlinePilots is responsible for the processing described on this page. For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected].
Data used to deliver and secure the website
When you visit the site, internet infrastructure necessarily handles technical information such as your IP address, requested URL, date and time, browser information and security or error events. The site is hosted in a Docker environment on infrastructure managed by OnlinePilots and is made publicly available through Cloudflare.
This processing is necessary to deliver the pages, prevent abuse, investigate failures and keep the service secure. OnlinePilots does not use the website application to create named visitor profiles from access data. Infrastructure providers apply their own documented retention periods and safeguards.
Playground data stays in your browser
The Docker Playground stores the profile label, lesson progress and Compose draft in your browser's local storage. This data is not sent to an OnlinePilots account or database. It remains on the device until you reset the Playground, clear browser data or remove it through browser settings.
If you email OnlinePilots, the message, sender address and related metadata are used to answer and follow up on your request. The basis is taking steps at your request and the legitimate interest in maintaining correspondence. Ordinary correspondence is removed when it is no longer reasonably needed, normally within 12 months after the matter is closed, unless a longer period is required for a legal claim or statutory duty.
Advertising
The Google AdSense site-verification code is present sitewide, but OnlinePilots has not enabled ad placements. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, IP addresses and similar identifiers to verify the site and, after advertising is enabled, deliver and measure ads and—where you consent—personalize them. A Google-certified consent platform presents the applicable choices before consent-dependent advertising storage is used.
Read how Google uses data on partner sites and the OnlinePilots cookie policy.
Affiliate links
Some articles contain clearly disclosed affiliate links, currently including Proton. When you follow one, the destination provider receives the normal web request and may record the referral. OnlinePilots may receive aggregated conversion and commission information, but does not receive your Proton password or payment details. See the affiliate disclosure.
Service providers and international transfers
OnlinePilots uses service providers where needed to operate the site, including Cloudflare for network delivery and security and, after activation, Google for consent management and advertising. These providers may process data outside the European Economic Area and describe applicable transfer safeguards in their own privacy documentation.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection, and withdraw consent for future processing. Email [email protected]. OnlinePilots may ask for proportionate information to verify that the request concerns you.
You may also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
